After graduating from the University of Otago in 2010, the Gold Coast of Australia became home for three years where a passion for data emerged.

Moving away from the Gold Coast resulted in four years in Europe consulting with a large publicly listed multi-national corporation across a number of business units in London, Dublin & Brussels.

The current chapter returns back to the Gold Coast of Australia, chasing the dream of running a data & analytics consultancy firm.

Laurens obtained his Business Engineering degree at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) in 2016 specialising in Data-Analytics & Enterprise Governance. He started working as an employee of PwC Belgium in the department of Risk & Data Assurance and transferred to PwC Australia in 2018.

Through a broad range of projects, Laurens developed technical expertise in the field of data mining and business process analytics. During his time at PwC, he was one of the firm-wide Power BI trainers and data & analytics coaches.

Following his passion for Business Intelligence and Analytics, he joined Report Simple helping businesses to get the most out of their data.

Completing a Bachelor of Business in 2012 from Southern Cross University followed by a few years travelling abroad while working.

Moving back to Australia and working for the largest superannuation fund in Queensland (Sunsuper) within the Analytics & Insights department. Knowledge and a real passion for data became apparent and has grown vastly from working across several platforms and assisting in large scale projects.

Keen to help clients understand and unlock the potential of their data while showing the many benefits of business intelligence and data analytics.

Laura graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics, specializing in Pure Mathematics and Economics, in 2022.

She first discovered her passion for data analytics while working as a Pension Analyst at one of the largest pension funds in Canada. After gaining experience with SQL and Power BI, she was keen to continue working and learning in this field. Moving to Gold Coast allowed her to pursue this passion, while enjoying the Australian lifestyle.

Problem solving and helping clients are her favourite parts of working in this field. Outside of work, she enjoys going to the beach, swimming and travelling.

Working as a Radiation Therapist for 18 years, Melissa developed her passion for data while undertaking many different research projects. She has always been enthusiastic about how data can inform decision-making and drive positive change.

After moving to the Gold Coast in 2019, Melissa had a goal to enhance her data expertise and pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on Data Science and Software Development. Alongside her studies, she has also acquired proficiency in utilising business intelligence tools, including Power BI.

Benjamin holds a PhD and a Master of Applied Science, both from the University of Sydney, where he specialised in analysing sports biomechanical data.

Working as a sport scientist for over 20 years in Australia and internationally, he gained extensive experience in data analysis within the high-performance sports industry. Following his passion and knowledge for data, he has now transitioned into data analytics.

He aims to help clients get the maximum value out of their data by analysing and presenting the data in a way that is most meaningful to them.
